Casinos can be profitable as well as compelling. Online casinos are easily accessible from virtually anywhere and readily available 24/7 with enticing promotions such as best casino bonuses.

Yet visiting a casino can be an unbelievably fantastic experience, especially for those who want to smell sweet success in person.

There’s only a handful of proven principles for players to employ and have the odds stacked in their favour to end up as a real winner inside a physical casino.

1. Get the dealer involved (blackjack/craps/poker/roulette)
Whenever players are at a table, then by placing a bet for the dealer rather than sliding them a chip as a tip is a terrific trick that can help pave the way for paying dividends.

Obviously this gesture isn’t going to improve the odds, or cheat other players. However, the dealer should be more inclined to be supportive and may soon be rooting for you to come up trumps.

2. Don’t be afraid to ask for advice (blackjack)
It’s viable to consult the dealer when unsure how to play a hand. Although they will generally only give guidance by explaining how most other players with that hand would proceed. They can only offer a suggestion as they aren’t permitted to advise.

Alternatively, reach out to experienced players at the table who may be happy to reveal what is best in theory, in other words the mathematically correct way to play.

3. Learn which cards to split (blackjack)
It’s wise to split the cards that depict an ace or eight, but not to split cards with the value of four, five and ten.

By dividing aces, the intention is to try to catch two tens in order to end up with a perfect total of 21. It’s sensible to split the eights, especially as 16 is arguably the very worst hand possible. Again, players will be aiming to be dealt a pair of tens to obtain two scores of 18.

Players cannot expect to always win by dividing two eight cards, the chances are that they will end up losing less when making a habit of splitting.

By splitting up fours and sixes, players could be left with two totals of 14 or 16. By keeping the fives together then being dealt a ten will give an excellent total of 20.

However, depending on the card that the dealer is showing should determine whether it is best to split other pairs.

4. Beware what the house offers (blackjack)
When the house offers the options of insurance with any hand, or even money, then they aren’t doing this out of the kindness of their heart.

They are running a highly successful business, so players shouldn’t be tempted to accept anything on offer as it will be seriously stacked in favour of the house.

5.Play the odds on the Pass Line (craps)
It’s best to only play where 2X odds or better are on offer. The sign next to each dealer reveals both the odds offered as well as the minimum and maximum bets allowed.

The house keeps part of the win for the Pass Line, but gets nothing on the odds bet. Placing a Pass Line bet with double odds will reduce the house advantage to only 0.08%. Always take odds on the Pass Line. This is because the house will give true odds on that bet, but only even money on your basic Pass Line bet.

6. Stick with simple bets (craps)
Play it simplistic, and forget betting on the Big 6 or Big 8. Also avoid the long shots, like Field bets and hard way.

Wager on the Pass Line with at least 2X odds behind it, then place the six and eight, or two come bets with odds. These are the best bets at the table.

7. Be cautious with risky bets (roulette)
It’s best to avoid hedging bets on the five-spot in roulette, namely the 0, 00, 1, 2, 3). This is because when a bet is placed on the five-spot, the house edge leaps from 5.26% on a double zero table to over 7%.

Just back the “outside” bets rather than the “inside” bets. The “outside” bets are odd/even, high/low, red/black or the columns or dozens.

Players can enjoy more favourable odds by wagering on these “outside” bets than selecting any single numbers.

8. Don’t be dazzled (slots)
Slots are getting more complex with players visually guided to opt for some of the most modern slots. Ever-evolving modern technology, clever marketing ploys plus bright colours and graphics are there to attract interest.

Three-reel slots are logically going to offer decent odds. Those with extra reels are generally designed to encourage you to pump in more money for a bigger payout.

In the long run players are likely to lose less money by sticking to three-reel machines. Those four-reel, five-reel and above machines are geared to push the odds against players.

9. Play the maximum bet for big wins (slots/video poker)
To get the most from a machine then players need to put the maximum coins in.

If the price is too high with the maximum bet, just play at a lower domination machine. The only way to achieve a big payout is to always play the maximum.

10. Show your trust (video poker)
Video poker will pay out at a high rate and older video poker machines, like play Jacks or Better 9/6, which are easy to learn.

A 9/6 machine can be identified by looking at what a Full House pays for one coin (9) and what it pays for a Flush (6). This machine will return 99.5%.
